PIAC Members: Diverse, Engaged, Passionate
PIAC Members are elected parent volunteers who form an Advisory Committee to the TDSB. Each TDSB Ward has two Representatives on PIAC.
PIAC members fulfill our mission through the following roles and responsibilities:
Acquire the skills and knowledge needed to realize PIAC’s goals
Communicate information from the Ontario Ministry of Education and/or the TDSB, to School Councils and parents/caregivers
Share best practices with School Councils and promote knowledge sharing in our wards
Identify and reduce barriers to Parent Engagement
Contribute to communication and engagement strategies that improve student achievement and well-being
Recommend how to best use government funding for parent involvement (as described in Ontario Education Act R.S.O 1990, O.Reg. 612/00)
Participate in monthly PIAC general meetings, PIAC Working Groups, and PIAC events
